Global Infrastructure Product Services aims to establish and reinforce a culture of effective metrics, data-driven business processes, architecture simplification, and cost transparency. 

As the Data Science team in Global Infrastructure Product Services embarks on building and deploying advanced data science and machine learning (ML) models, we are looking for a senior data scientist to build, deploy and monitor models in production.

In this Engineer role, you will be part of a versatile team responsible for building and supporting scalable, secure, and highly available Cloud based (on-prem) Services such as Redis, Kafka, Elastic, Spark, Airflow and GridGain

Responsibilities Include:

  • With your core understanding of Linux, clustering and networking, you will have an emphasis on ensuring all services are highly available and scalable, using both Open Sourced and vendor provided products.
  • Providing Level 3 hands-on support for Linux including resolving performance issues with virtualization and containerized environments
  • Being a domain expert of two or more of the following: Redis, Kafka Spark, GridGain, Airflow or Elastic
  • Having a good understanding of Cloud Principles and container-based platforms like Docker, Kubernetes, and Redhat OpenShift to support our customer’s use of Cloud Services
  • Writing Terraform programming scripts for automating installation and configuration of various managed services offering resources & its components in public cloud environments
  • Integrating Observability tools like Splunk, Sahara, Prometheus and ELK.
  • Building scripts using Linux scripting, Python and configuration languages like YAML/JSON
  • Combines deep expertise, detailed and rational root cause analysis to find chances to build things faster and better

Are you up for the challenge?

  • Overall 8+ years of Technology proven experience with 2-3 Years of meaningful engineering experience
  • Demonstrated professional expertise in a large Fortune 100 company running an IT Production Operation at scale including Infrastructure (Servers, Network, Storage, Security) and deployment of highly available Applications (Distributed, Middleware, Databases across all tiers)
  • Experience working within an Agile led team for rapid and continuous development of work products
  • A knowledge of integration with public cloud managed services in AWS/GCP/Azure
  • Strong experience in Linux functionalities/features and system administration
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of high availability and Disaster Recovery implementations
  • Strong knowledge of virtualization management in VMware
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Passion for learning new technologies, particularly in the cloud computing infrastructure area.

  • Cloud management and administration
  • Validated diagnostic, troubleshooting, and service restoration skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Strong English communication skills with the ability to work with customers in critical outage situations.
  • Good written and verbal communication and presentation skills

Salary Range: $85,000.00 to $150,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
